If your company makes, sells, or distributes household medicines or sharps, you may be required by law to participate in take-back programs as a “producer” or “manufacturer.” The exact requirements depend on how each law defines these terms and which jurisdictions you operate in. It’s important for your company to understand where compliance is required.

A producer must be a member of PPSWG to participate in MED-Project programs. Membership in PPSWG covers the parent company, along with all affiliates and subsidiaries.

No. Members only pay a participation fee for each jurisdiction-specific MED-Project program where they elect to participate. Members do not pay a fee for any MED-Project programs that they do not participate in.

All routine submissions and reporting are completed by MED-Project on your company’s behalf. After determining your company’s compliance obligations, you choose the jurisdictions where you need to participate. MED-Project notifies those counties, cities, or states and submits all required information on your behalf. If any jurisdiction requires additional reporting, PPSWG will let you know exactly what’s needed, and provide guidance and templates to collect that information from you.
